Seagazing by CharlotteXXI Seagazing by CharlotteXXI
EDIT: Fixed colors.

Despite the title, you don't actually see any water here.

First painting of 2013. Happy belated new year!

P.S.: I popped this image up on my iPad, and I was like "WTF why is the image so undersaturated!?".

Apparently I need to recalibrate my laptop monitor. Sorry if the colors (especially the sky) looks all muddy and shit.

P.P.S.: I actually think it's the iPad being unable to display color correctly. Dunno.

P.P.P.S.: Okay, so after cross-checking with my PC monitor, my artwork's colors are off. Sigh. I might throw this on Photoshop and fix the color cuz it's so annoying... Damn monitors.

Simply gorgeous, I think the sketchy painting style really complements the scene.
I also love the contrast between the sky blue and muted browns in the foreground - terrific job!

Stunning. She has such a powerful and meaning pose, and your technique is great. Oh and the browns . . . it's great.
